One of the biggest struggles entrepreneurs face? Messaging that doesn’t convert.

You might have the best offer in the world, but if your content isn’t clear, compelling, and client-focused, your audience won’t take action. That’s why I hosted a live open coaching session to help business owners refine their messaging—cutting through the fluff and creating content that attracts aligned, ready-to-buy clients.

Let’s break down the key takeaways and actionable steps you can apply right now to clarify your brand message and increase conversions.

1. Messaging is Like a Clarifying Shampoo—Remove the Fluff

Think of your messaging like a clarifying shampoo—its job is to strip away unnecessary words, vague phrases, and excess fluff so that your core message shines through.

Signs Your Messaging is Too Fluffy: ✔ Your audience likes your posts but doesn’t take action. ✔ People say, “I love what you do!” but don’t buy. ✔ You’re using generic phrases like “step into your power” or “unlock your potential.”

Fix It:

  • Use clear, specific language that instantly resonates.
  • Avoid overused motivational phrases and replace them with tangible results.
  • Ask yourself: Would a stranger instantly understand what I do?

2. Get Laser Focused on Your Ideal Client

Trying to talk to everyone means resonating with no one. If your audience isn’t engaging, it may be because your messaging is too broad.

Try This Exercise:

Imagine walking through a grocery store. If you could read minds, how would you spot your ideal client? What thoughts would they be having? What struggles would they be experiencing?

Example: Instead of saying, “I help women feel more confident in life,” try: 👉 “I help ambitious women stop second-guessing their Instagram content so they can attract high-ticket clients with ease.”

See the difference? Specificity builds trust.

3. Address Your Audience’s Urgent Problem

People don’t take action unless they urgently need a solution. Your messaging should speak to the exact moment when your audience realizes they need help.

How to Find the Urgent Problem:

  • What’s frustrating them right now?
  • What’s keeping them up at night?
  • What problem are they actively searching for a solution to?

For example, if you’re a business coach, instead of saying “I help entrepreneurs grow,” say: 👉 “Struggling to hit 10K months? I’ll help you simplify your sales strategy so you can scale without burnout.”

🔑 The clearer the problem, the more effortless the sale.

4. Sell What They WANT, Deliver What They NEED

A big mistake many business owners make? Selling the “broccoli” (what your audience needs) instead of the “chocolate” (what they actually want).

Example:

“I’ll help you master financial planning and budgeting.” (Broccoli) ✅ “Want to stop stressing about money and finally feel in control of your finances?” (Chocolate)

Your audience will buy the chocolate, and once they’re inside your program, you can serve them the broccoli they actually need for transformation.

5. Create a Clear, Actionable Content Plan

Once your messaging is clear, you need a content strategy that converts.

Here’s a Simple Messaging Framework:

Problem Awareness – Show your audience you understand their struggles. ✔ Solution Presentation – Introduce your unique approach. ✔ Authority Building – Share your expertise and results. ✔ Call-to-Action – Guide them to the next step (DM you, join your program, sign up for your freebie).

🚀 Pro Tip: If your audience isn’t converting, tweak your call-to-action. Tell them exactly what to do next—don’t assume they know!

Final Thoughts: Messaging is the Key to Sales

When your messaging is clear, everything else—content, sales, audience growth—becomes easier.

What to Do Next:

Refine your messaging using these exercises. ✅ Get specific about who you help and the problem you solve. ✅ Test & tweak your content based on engagement.
