[0:13] Hey, welcome back to the podcast. These launch recap episodes are some of my most listened to, so I know there's probably a lot of you listening to this. You guys love to hear what's working for my launches, and you love to take notes for your own launches, which makes sense because we're all out here trying to figure out how to hack these launches, how to make them work, how to make them more effective and easier than ever. And so I'm excited to share with you some of my takeaways from this most recent launch that I had of my program, The Greenhouse, which has been worth six months, almost seven months into this program that I started this past winter. So there's a lot that I learned. This is technically the third time, my third time launching this program.
[0:54] And there were also some things that turned out to be ingenious, but I can't take credit for the idea because it came directly from God. And I'm going to tell you the stories about those things today as well. First, quick recap of the sales from the greenhouse, because I love to share with with you guys what's working. I had 21 new ladies join the greenhouse and I had eight ladies whose six-month membership was ending this month who renewed into a new alumni group. So this is the first thing about this greenhouse launch that's different that I learned about is that I launched this alumni offer for the first time ever. And it made it so that ladies who had already been through their first six months in the greenhouse could stay for another six to 12 months. They also get access to a fun new alumni only group call and some other fun bonus perks that I'm giving to them as well. And so that was super fun. I also had 21 new ladies join and something unique about this launch that I haven't had in a long time is that most of the ladies who joined this launch, I don't know super well yet, obviously inside the greenhouse, I'm going to be coaching them live and we'll get to know each other, but that was fun too. So a couple of weeks, let me back up to actually a month before the greenhouse launch. It may have been a little bit longer than that.
[2:14] I sometimes like to give my launches different themes of the overall overarching message or thing or skill that I learned that I'm taking with me through the rest of my business for the rest of my launches. And if I had to give this launch a theme, it would be divine intervention. There were several moments where I had a very specific prompting or idea come to me for something that I did, and it turned out to be genius in hindsight, but I can't take credit for the idea because it wasn't my own. I actually don't think most of my My ideas are my own. I know they come from God. And I love... This is a truth and a belief that I have for my business that the women in my world seem to really resonate with, which is that just like how most of us are interested in developing our spirituality, we're interested in strengthening our relationships with God.
[3:14] Sometimes the way that we've been raised or taught or trained by society or culture is that that can't carry over into your business. Business and my question has just always been why not and so since the beginning of my business my very first business seven years ago daily prayer and implementing ideas that come to my mind from I believe promptings from the spirit from God has been my secret sauce to success and it takes so much the pressure off of me to come up with these amazing ideas because I just say prayers and ask and he gives them to me and then he knows that I courageously follow them even when I don't want to too. So let me give an example of a prompting that I did want to follow, but it did require a lot of my courage. I had an idea a couple of months ago. Well, I've had this idea for years to have another in-person event. I had my first one. It would have been like a couple months after Drew was born, so about two years ago. And ever since then, I wanted to have another event. I wanted to have retreats and things like that, but I have this huge fear block or had.
[4:21] In-person events are intimidating, especially if you're someone like me, who's an introvert, where I would rather just hang out at home with my husband and watch a movie and read a book and take a bath. But obviously I do love networking and I do love connecting with women, especially in person. But there is definitely a major fear block for me, which is also interesting. This is a total side note. But at the university that I studied at, Brigham Young University, the program that I studied was event planning. And so it's funny how the thing that I've studied that I know that I've been good at since I was a little kid, I was planning birthday parties and events and get-togethers. I know it's my zone of genius, but when it came to implementing my zone of genius for my own business, it was like, ah, panic, fear.
[5:06] So I had this idea a couple of months ago to have an in-person networking event and ended up getting on a call with Kristen Paulson. Shout out to Kristen. She is my event strategist. And it was so fascinating how basically like I remember seeing Kristen posting about this offer where she was doing just a single consult call. And I just had this very distinct feeling. You need to get one of those. And I sort of had an idea for an event. I knew I wanted it to be at my grandma's house because my grandma's house is incredible and there's no other place in the world like it. So that feels like an easy decision to make, but everything else felt confusing. And so on this consultation call with Kristen, who strategizes events like this for women who own businesses, she helped me so much to trickle through all the different ideas and put together a game plan. Because one idea that I had was that maybe this event is for women inside the greenhouse, but that didn't feel right because there's 50% of the women in the greenhouse are in Utah. And so just lots of decisions that it felt super confusing and hard to make that became very clear after that consult with Kristen. And so after that, all of a sudden it was like this vision for this event was I could see it in my mind's eye. I knew exactly what the decor was going to look like.
[6:24] That's one of the first things that I go to because I have, you know, my aesthetic brain. I like things to look a certain way, especially for an event. And so I knew exactly what it was going to look like. I knew exactly what was going to happen. I knew we were going to have dinner. I knew there was going to to be time for personal reflection and revelation.
[6:40] I wanted it to feel like a mini retreat, you know, if leaving kids for multiple days or even overnight is challenging for women. I know it is for me. I wanted to feel possible to have a taste of a retreat-like experience, but in this one event. This is a huge tangent. I promise this comes back to the greenhouse. I will tie this together in just a second. So it just so happened that the timing of this event fell the same month that I was already planning on relaunching the greenhouse. This is all divine intervention.
[7:14] If we could zoom back six months ago and plan this all out in advance, it would have been considered genius, but because it wasn't my own idea, I can't take credit for it. So I ended up, I picked the date for this in-person event at my grandma's house based on the day that this photographer, who I love, Alicia, shout out to Alicia, was available. And that was going to be the night of the event. event and it just so happened that the launch of the greenhouse fell the week after that. And so once again, not timed that way intentionally by me, but it turned out to be beautiful. Had the event and it was so fun to have ladies there who are in the greenhouse and it was so fun to have ladies there who should be in the greenhouse. And so it turned into this really great networking opportunity for me to introduce myself to women who I hadn't met in person before or have been in my programs for a long time who I've never been able to hug in person. So that was a beautiful aspect of it. It also was just beautiful. And so ladies shared about it, which was so fun too. And so I gained a good amount of new followers just from this event. That was all amazing. I had no idea how much that event would carry me into a really beautiful greenhouse launch. Again, orchestrated by God.
[8:37] So after this in-person event and a handful of new faces in my audience following, which was so fun and exciting, I had a free Master Your Messaging workshop. I want to call this out because I really like when mentors explain like some of the touch points of their launch that they designed intentionally to help sell their offer. So I created this one-hour workshop that was totally free called Master Your Messaging. messaging and the purpose of it was for women to help learn how to talk about what they do in a way that makes people want to buy.
[9:11] So that was a free training that ended up being the morning after the in-person event, which my voice was completely gone. I think I actually recorded it. It's published as a podcast episode. So if you want to listen to that session, go back a couple episodes. You will also hear the lack of voice that I have, which is because that event was the night before. Next, after the live free master your messaging workshop, I also held a secret open coaching call in the middle of the launch. And I really like doing those just because it feels like a way for women to get access to me. If they have questions, if they want to get in the room and experience what it's like to be on an open coaching call with me, that event was intentionally designed to give women a taste of what happens inside the greenhouse. So that when they come and they love it. And they're like, how do I make it so that I can participate in this every week? Here's the greenhouse offer. It makes it a really easy, natural way to sell your offers without feeling salesy. It feels very serviceable. And I love showing up to those free events with just like a totally abundant heart. Whoever is supposed to be here is supposed to be here today. And I'm trusting this, you know, whether it's the live version, whether it's the recorded version to to reach whoever it needs to reach.
[10:20] So yeah, that was the secret open coaching call. I also want to say this too, because this launch was a little bit longer for me. Usually my launches are seven days or less, but this one turned out to be about 10 days. And so I knew that my marketing stamina was going to decrease closer to the end of my launch because I've just done this enough that I know that. And if any of you who have launched longer than like four or five, six, seven days, you can relate where closer to the end of your launch, you're just like, I'm sick of talking about this. I'm pretty sure everyone's sick of hearing about it, even though they're not, they're probably just starting to get warmed up to it. But I just know that that marketing fatigue is real. And so for this secret open coaching call, I intentionally decided to not talk about it on Instagram at all. I just sent a couple of emails about it because I can do that, knock that out in a few minutes, hit send, people receive it, they come, they love it. And so it didn't feel like this is another big ask. Like I didn't have to build hype for it. I didn't have to get people excited for it in the interest of keeping my marketing stamina strong until the doors closed on Friday. Divine intervention number two. I can't remember what day it was, but it must have been... I don't know.
[11:34] I was probably three or four days into the launch and was literally praying and asking God. I really like to ask the question, like, is there anything else you want me to say?
[11:45] Is there anything else you want me to do to reach the people who I may not have reached yet, even with all the other marketing efforts that I'm doing? It's also just a really grounding question to ask of like, hey, Heavenly Father, will you help me know what to do? Because like I said, when you're marketing stamina gets low and you're in this vulnerable launch, it feels so grounding and natural for answers like that to come through. So I asked that question in a prayer and received a prompting, you need to get on live with some of the ladies who have been in the greenhouse already and tell their story of what they experienced. I wasn't planning on doing that in advance. It was not part of my marketing plan. And anyway, it turned out to be really, really special. So I picked four ladies who I've worked with extensively. We're on a DM convo basis and just dropped them a quick DM question to say, hey, is there a chance you'd be willing to get on live with me on this certain day? I'm going to record it. I would love to share it with my audience. I would love to hear you tell your story of your experience in the greenhouse. House, here's a couple of questions that I want to ask. So that was something, like I said, I was not planning on doing that in advance. It would have been very smart of me to plan on doing that, but it was just an idea that came to me through divine intervention.
[13:09] I ended up using those videos. I was able to upload them and record them and chop them down into a one minute testimonial to add to my sales page, which was really cool because I wanted to have videos on my sales page, but just hadn't been able to get any and didn't know how, but that turned out to be a really fun fun, and easy way to get them. Also a shout out here to Rebecca Peterson, who put together my sales page for this greenhouse launch. I think it's fun for you guys to know who's helping me behind the scenes too, so that you can see that it's not just me doing this solo all the time, so that when you try to do it solo and you're like, this is impossible, I agree. And I don't think you should try to do it that way either. So I hired Rebecca to design. This is the first time I've ever paid for a sales page to be designed. I also paid for her to help me refine find all the messaging on the sales page because you've heard me talk about this before, but I feel like it's so important for you to have someone who's on the outside of the bottle reading the label. It's one of my favorite analogies that I actually learned from Rebecca that resonates with me so much because just like how that's part of the work that I help my clients do. Like I'm the girl on the outside of the bottle who will help you read the label. Like what is this thing that I'm selling? What is it that makes me unique? What's my unique zone of genius? I can help you decipher that, but I also need help doing that for my own brand. And so that's why I invest a lot in support and mentorship to help me do that because I see the value in it.
[14:33] So Rebecca designed the sales page and helped me refine all the messaging. We basically rewrote it like three times. It was so, so useful and so helpful. And I am so proud of the content on that sales page. And the reason I'm bringing that up is because it's been really cool to watch how these ladies joining the greenhouse, who historically the ladies who joined the greenhouse, we know each other. They've been in my world for a long time. We're pretty close. We've had conversations. We've worked with each other. We've been in other groups together. But with this greenhouse launch, it brought in new people who haven't necessarily been in my world that I've known of for a very long time, which to me is evidence that the messaging of the offer worked.
[15:16] And so I just want to say that, that if you feel like when you sell offers, it's the same handful of people coming back to you over and over. First of all, that's not a problem. That's really beautiful and awesome. And I think you should lean into it and keep people in your world for a really long time. Time but also there was a part of this launch that again I just want to call this out because, I want you guys to see that even my launches I learn things and even though I've done it so many stinking times this was launch number 27 for me by the way in the last two years I've launched so many times I learned so much every single time but I still learn new things every time I launch so for this one because this was the first time that I launched kind of to a new audience who who doesn't. The reason people joined for this launch was different than ladies may have joined in past launches, which in past launches, when I launched this greenhouse membership for the first time, ladies were basically joining because it was like, I know Kaylin. I know everything she creates is amazing. I want to be in that room. For this launch, the ladies joining had a different desire, which was to learn from someone who knows how to make money from their marketing. And so it was just a little bit of a different reason that people were buying. Because of that, I didn't really catch until the last day, the last few hours, that I kind of missed a really important piece in my marketing, which was giving answers to people's objections.
[16:37] And I don't always really like to... I don't know. I have different feelings about responding to people's objections because I think you probably experienced sales experiences when people really push really hard on closing you through any objections or concerns that you have. And so I think it's an important phase of your marketing, but I kind of missed it. And I realized I hadn't been using my emails to clarify or answer people's questions. I hadn't been using my stories or my posts or my emails to answer some of these concerns that people may have had about joining. And so for that reason, after the cart closed, I still got so many messages from ladies asking about the greenhouse. And so I decided to keep the doors open for another day. I haven't actually ever that I I can remember done that before, at least in a way where it was like, I need another day of this launch because I haven't had time to answer all these questions. So that was, like I said, good for me to learn. I will definitely build in a couple of days into my messaging strategy where I go through all the concerns and objections in detail.
[17:50] Something that was kind of cool though, is as a result of those objections, the number one objection that I got was the price point, which will be the case anytime you sell anything. But what was really cool is that I was able to guide women through that decision. And I think it's important for you to notice this and know this, that the price is actually not the reason why people aren't buying. It's going to be the reason that your brain throws up when people don't buy. You're like, oh, it was probably too expensive. I guarantee you it's not. That is not the reason. Any price point, if people can justify or if they feel confident and sure that this offer is gonna help them get what they want, they'll be able to justify just about any price point. If they just love the offer enough.
[18:38] They'll be able to justify the price point. You can probably think of so many examples from your own spending habits, from things that you watch yourself invest in. You can see it's like, oh, when I say that I can't afford that thing, that's not actually the complete truth. What's actually true is that I don't want that thing, or I don't love it, or I don't think it's for me, or I don't know if it's for me. I don't know if I'm the right fit for it. And I got lots of questions from ladies about like, am I a good fit for this if I haven't even made money for my business yet? Am I a good fit for this if I don't even know what to sell yet? And those are questions that I just straight up didn't answer in my marketing. So I take responsibility for that, but I'm also giving myself grace because this is something that I'm learning, right? So what was really cool though, is that because I left the doors open for that extra day, there were three ladies who reached out to me specifically and said, I am like on the fence.
[19:30] Hard about this offer I want to be in, but I can't justify the price point just yet. And so I don't really remember what I said to any of them, which I think is important for you guys to know that there was no script that I followed to close the sale. That feels so icky inside of me, even just saying that. There was no formula or magic thing that I followed. Instead, I just, with a little bit of a prayer in my heart, asking what God would want these women to know. Shared with them that the purpose of the greenhouse is for you to learn how to make sales from your marketing. I probably said something like, what would it be like for you if we could help you make an extra $97 a month in sales to cover the cost of this program without you stressing about it? And that's not always my favorite marketing message to use, but I think it works specifically for this program because the promised outcome is making more money from your marketing.
[20:27] And so three of them came back to me and said, hey, I went to one of my current clients and raised my prices a hundred bucks. So now I can cover the cost of this program and I'm in. And that's never happened to me like that, quite like that before. And I've never had three ladies do that, which was fascinating to me. And obviously I'm going to do a lot of messaging creation around that experience and build it into my marketing the next time I launch. But it was really cool to witness how when women had the confidence that this program would help them make more money, they first of all went and proved it by going out and making more money and then came back and joined the program, which was just the beginning of what we're going to create together. And so what I want to say here is just a reminder that your pricing doesn't matter as much as you think that it does. And if you can give a woman confidence that this program is for her, she will come up with the money for it. She will find a way to join. And if they don't join, you can confidently say, this might not have been the right time for her. You don't need to take all this personal rejection and feel super rejected by it. You can just say, it may not have been the right time for her, or maybe she's not the right fit. And that's totally okay.
[21:44] And everyone can go on their way without feeling like feelings were hurt. And you can keep selling your offers without feeling like you did something wrong or you weren't good enough.
[21:57] It's The last thing that I want to say is that this launch was my best launch to date. But that's not just because of the results that I got. That belief that my launches always get better and better is a belief that I have been intentionally choosing and practicing for years. And so that belief, my launches are always getting better and better, was a belief that I was intentionally choosing and practicing even when I went through the phase of having four, no, three back-to-back-to-back launches that sold zero dollars in sales, if you've heard me tell that story before. I was choosing to believe even in the middle of those really hard launches that my launches always get better and better. And so because of that, my brain is constantly looking for evidence to prove that that's true. And it keeps finding evidence to prove that that's true. And so that that belief gets stronger and stronger. And so I want to offer that to you as an option, that you can just choose to believe that your launches always get better and better. And I know that. And that doesn't always mean, I think it does for me mean that I keep making more and more money for my launches, which is really cool. But it also means that I'm learning.
[23:11] Every single time that I launch, I'm becoming a better launcher. Every single time I'm improving my marketing skills. Every single time I'm getting clearer about who my offers are for so that I can talk to that person more specifically so that I can filter out the people who might not be the right fit right now. And so you can choose that belief too, that your launches always get better and better. Every single one gets easier. Every single one gets more successful.
[23:41] And your brain is, the more you practice that and choose to believe that, you'll start to be able to see evidence of that reflecting back to you. Even when on paper, that might not look technically true, but I can look back now and see even those launches where the dollar amount in my Kajabi account looked like, these are not getting better and better, Kaylin, but I chose to believe that they were. And they were because I was improving my marketing skills and I was improving my messaging skills and I was getting clearer about who I can help and about how I can help her in talking specifically to her. I hope you guys love this launch recap. I love bringing these to you because it's, first of all, just really fun for me to share with you guys what's working so that you can take this and replicate it. Take what's useful. And I also really like bolstering your your belief, even if it's a tiny little seedling of a belief right now, that your launches can create these kind of results. And I also want to encourage you to choose the belief that your launches can be this successful and they might be really successful really soon. What if your next launch in the next month...
[24:53] Was this successful? Because if your brain's like mine, my brain will be like, oh yeah, I'll have a five-figure launch next year for sure, guaranteed. But when we shorten the timeframe, it's like, what if you could have a five-figure launch by the end of the year? What if you could have a five-figure launch in the next three months? What if you could have a five-figure launch next month? And when you get that dead serious about creating that kind of result in your launches, the way that you show up in your launch is probably going to look a little little bit different. Your intention, your seriousness, your frequency, your volume is probably all going to increase as a result. And that's what actually creates the results, which is so cool. I hope you guys loved this episode. I will see you next week for the Wholehearted Business Podcast. Thanks for listening.
