[0:13] Hey, my friends, welcome to the podcast. I have my dear friend and client, Anna Brinkworth, with us today.
[0:19] I invited Anna to join on my show today because, and I want to tell a little bit of the backstory. I'm going to let Anna talk. This is all going to be about her in just a minute. Say hi, Anna. Hey, everybody. Hi, Kaylin. Thank you for having me. You're welcome. I'm excited to have you. So quick backstory on why I'm obsessed with Anna's work so much. So I actually joined Anna's program, Strong AF, this past spring. And it's so interesting now to reflect back on the experience of that and also reflect on what was sort of going on in my mind when I was almost like I had this like awakening of like a physical awakening of like, it's time for me to take care of my body. And I may have been telling myself a little bit that I'll get to that one day when I have more time, when my kids are older or whatever. And the thing that really brought me to Anna's world was that my dad had a heart attack in December. And we know in my family that there's an extended family history of genetic heart attacks. And actually back like three generations, every single male in my dad's family line passed away from a heart attack between the age of 60, mid-60s. And so my dad had his first heart attack. And luckily, his was the best possible case scenario. So miracles, blessings for that. But for me and for my siblings, it was like, oh, man, this is sneaking up on us quickly.
[1:46] And I don't want to procrastinate taking care of my body anymore. And I want to figure out a way to make it a pillar of my lifestyle instead of feeling like the thing that I do for like six months when I want to get in shape for the summer or something. I really want it to be like part of my life. So Anna started selling her program Strong AF. And I tell her all the time that I think it was like the best kept secret. It's not going to be anymore because we're like working on dialing in the messaging
[2:16] and getting it in front of the world so that she can impact women in her unique, amazing way. So first, Anna, tell me about your story of why fitness and health has become so important to you. Yeah. So when you think of like become, this is a little bit different than most people, but I have considered myself someone who has loved movement and challenging myself and an athlete my entire life.
[2:45] And I think the lens of that identity and going off into the world and being a high performer and like all of the things of my past, I was a people pleaser, perfectionist, high performer. I cared a lot about, you know, how people perceived me and doing well and all of those things of the ego. Right. And I became a physical therapist. I got a doctorate in physical therapy and being an identity was like a part of my life. And I went even into a career that focused on health and the body and healing and relationships.
[3:23] And that was cool. But I kind of was on this path of just follow along. And like, I have an older sister who is a physician, follow along in your sister's footsteps. I was always kind of in this, I don't really know exactly what I want to do or who I am. And this just sounds good. I'm good with people. I love the body. I love movement. Like it seemed like a great mix, you know, the science and the art of healing as a physical therapist. But honestly, that career, it fit well, and it worked. but it wasn't, I never felt completely ignited with it. It was always like, I'll just do it. I can be good at anything I say I'm going to do. And I invested like, you know, $130,000 to get my doctorate. Like I invested a lot of money. I had a flexible career. I worked in the hospitals for the first 10 years. I worked then also in the schools for the last 10 years of my career with kids with special needs. And I had a lot of flexibility. And.
[4:19] And I know I'm going into this, but I want people to understand if they don't know me, I come from the clinical world and the scientific world and of the body and the mind and the nervous system through science, right? And through a clinical lens, like I made it work because I make everything I do work, right? That's like part of being a high performer. We just, you tell me and I'm going to do it. And that's what I did. But this desire and passion and alignment until I found coaching, it wasn't really there. But the ability for me to move my body and push myself and show up for myself.
[4:58] That's been there for a lot of my life naturally. And I do want to honor that. Like some people might not have had that identity like I have their whole life. And that's okay. It doesn't mean that like fitness and a foundation of health and alignment in your mind, body and spirit isn't for you. It's just you haven't identified that way. So that helped me. And I want to point that out. However, what I did not have was the coaching tools, like diving into the coaching world, becoming a coach, learning how to integrate consciousness and mindset with what I already knew about the nervous system and the body. It was the most transformative, powerful thing I've ever experienced. And that is what I bring to my clients now, because you can be someone who,
[5:49] and I experienced this, you can be someone who works out every single day, right? Or four days a week and walks and eats fairly healthy most of the time and still feel like something is missing. That is how I felt when I became a mom and I had three kids in four years. And even though I had that identity, I was an athlete in high school and, you know, did intramurals in college and I I still worked out and lifted weights and all these things. But when I became a mom...
[6:19] And I think a lot of your listeners and a lot of my clients resonate with this. We fall into this, a little bit of it is pushed through society, right? And just our societal parameters that we feel like are truths, but it's kind of just been carried on. It's like this idea of what is my idea of being a good mom and being present and being a professional, having a career, whether at the time I was a physical therapist, right? Or entrepreneur, whatever it is. and you're a wife, you're a partner, and you have all these roles. And what we typically do, I see a lot of people do, and I did it myself for seven years, was we put ourselves on the back burner. We put ourselves last because it seems like I should be giving, like that is love to give to my kids. And I will wait. I will put myself last to make sure my kids are okay. And And everything's taken care of at home. And my partner's okay. And we become this ultimate caregiver of everyone else with the expense of ourselves.
[7:22] And I shut that part down. Not that I wasn't still moving my body a little bit. I was as a new mom, but it was not at the level that I was used to. So I always talk about a capacity changes when you become a mom, and in just the different seasons of our life, our capacity changes. And I think it's really easy to believe that it's impossible to be an amazing mom and an amazing wife and an amazing editor career or an entrepreneur, which I am now. I stopped my career as a physical therapist in 22 when I decided to go all into my business and things were going really well. It was just exponential success. I was like, like, I don't want to do this anymore. You know, this is lighting me up. How can I blend everything that I love and that I am and that I've learned together.
[8:17] So I had gone from being someone identifying as someone and showing up. So my actions were resonating and aligning with my identity of being someone who took care of my body. But until I found coaching, it was almost like a checkbox, like, hey, I do this. And it feels good. And I like how I feel in my body. But I felt this level of incongruency, you could call it, I don't know if misalignment, but no, it was just felt like something was missing. Because I had this low level, irritability, irritation, I had low patience, I would find myself snapping, I would find myself, you know, blaming my husband for things. And it's just like, I have everything. I have these amazing kids. I have a job that I get to work part-time in. Something's not lining up. And so I want to offer...
[9:15] The working out and changing how you eat and changing how you show up for yourself, it's super important. And I have this really simple framework that I teach my clients and that I, you know, taught in Strong AF. And I'll teach it again in this round. It's the power five. It's like really simple strategy of fueling your body and mindfulness and moving your body and how, you know, just ways to eat that feel empowering and rest all of these things that make it really simple strategy wise. But we blend in the consciousness piece, the identity work, and moving from this very regulated nervous system that I didn't have as an athlete and as someone that did work out, but didn't feel like I had the energy or capacity for anything outside of what I absolutely had to do. And when I combined all of that, I realized this is really powerful. This could absolutely really help people. I want to get this out there because like you said in the beginning with your own story and what we find, like I find this in a lot of my clients who are entrepreneurs or high performers.
[10:29] Coaches, we tend to let the health be the last thing because it is deeply a foundational piece for every human. I believe like our health, which includes mind, body, and spirit, which I really lean into all of that, it seems like, you know what, let me take care of everyone else. Let me take care of my kids. Let me pour in and into my business. Let me get my business going first. Let me get the revenue I want. Let me create the clients, right? Even our relationships, we work on that, but it's like ourself simply for us.
[11:08] I see a lot and I form, I noticed it myself. And like you said, the same thing. This is me. Right? Yep. Deciding that you can put yourself first and that you get your health gets to be the foundation of expanding success is almost like this mind F, right? Because that doesn't make sense for women. I find especially who are givers and who tend to put themselves last for the sake of everybody else. And so it is a complete mind shift. And it is a complete change in some of the thoughts and beliefs that a lot of women have that created the success. A lot of my clients are super successful. You are super successful. But then there is a disconnect between believing that actually I can have it all. And part of that includes my health, my energy, the way I feel, my confidence, my magnetism, like this feeling of strength from the inside out. It truly gives me chills to even say that because I have seen it happen for my clients.
[12:16] I saw it happen for you. It happened for me. And it happened quickly. Yes. Yeah. I want to tell like the other half of the story that I didn't really share, which was, so I think I started in Strong AF in like March.
[12:30] And at that point I was almost two years postpartum and I shared this with Anna and the group, but I had all this shame about my body didn't bounce back the way that it did after my first two babies. And I don't know what I'm doing differently. I feel like I'm doing the same thing. So I had this layer of body shame. I had this later layer of food fear of like, there's certain things that I can eat and certain things that I can't and certain things I have to be careful of.
[12:55] And so the layer that on there, and then I also had this, I don't have have time and I already would love to sleep more. So like where does working out and eating healthy fit in my life? So I joined Strong AF and.
[13:11] And it changes my life. But now it's been so cool to see. I do consistently, I can say this with no hesitation, work out three to four times a week. I'm at the gym and not because I feel like I should be or I have to be because I love it. It's like the highlight of my week. I enjoy it so much. I eat a ton of protein, way more than I used to. And Anna helped me find like really simple simple recipes. Just eat this on a busy day before you hop on a client call. You're going to get 30 to 50 grams of protein. You're going to feel amazing. You're going to skip that afternoon energy crash. So this is what's so cool about the work that you do is that it wasn't just, someone could go hire a dietician, someone could hire a personal trainer and they could get the pieces of that. And then they could also hire a mindset coach separately from that. You're like a really cool blend of all three, but not just from a, here's the recipes, go eat this. And not from a, here's the workouts, go do these. Like, let me provide them for you. It's like, okay, let's figure out what you actually enjoy to eat, how you actually enjoy to move your body. Let's build that into your day in a way that you look forward to it and enjoy it with no dread. I told Anna, one of the things that she said in her marketing is like, we're not going to be counting calories and we're not going to be counting macros. And I was like, where do I sign?
[14:33] He's just like, I just am not in a season. And I think my personality is one where just, I don't want to feel any more constrained by, you know, I have little kids at home. I'm running a business part-time. I don't want to have extra things that I have to track or keep track of or monitor. But I love that this principle that Anna already said is that this almost like market of health and wellness can feel so complicated and so heavy and confusing. And so Anna boiling it down to the power five and being like, these are the five things you need to worry about. Everything else is optional, but you made it so simple that it was like, I could do that. I could manage that. And I saw results super quickly. I shared with Anna, like pretty soon, I like went down a size and everything, which for some people may or may not
[15:25] be the goal, But for me, it was definitely the goal. Yeah. And started having more energy. My skin cleared up. Like all these really cool results that were so simple and beautiful. And...
[15:36] That's why I want you to share them with my audience. And I want you to share them with the whole world because I know a lot of the women in my world are in these childbearing years where we're making babies, we're birthing babies, our bodies are changing.
[15:50] We are doing the work to build our businesses. And so there's just a lot of things happening with our bodies. And so to feel like I could really be at peace with mine and know how to help it work with me, how I could work with my body to build my business and build my family has been very empowering. Oh, I love hearing that. And I'm so glad I see you continuing to move into this strong identity as someone who does that, which is a huge piece. But like you said, we have to embrace our bodies and embrace our season and embrace our capacity. And when we start pouring into ourselves from love. It's like an energetic difference from someone who is ashamed and who feels behind and who feels trapped and who feels like nothing's worked. I've got to fix myself. I've got to figure this out. That's a much different energy. And so many people go from there. So if that's you, please don't feel that this is calling you out as in like, this is bad. It's like, Like it's a beautiful call to understand that it can feel so different. It's an invitation to begin seeing yourself differently and to begin seeing the potential of who you are differently.
[17:08] I like to talk about kinetic and potential energy. And I think about this energy, this resting energy in our body, right? That's potential. Like we all have, I see every woman out there as powerhouses of this potential energy, okay? And potential energy is the energy that is at rest, right? It is resting energy.
[17:31] And when, how do we go from potential to kinetic energy, right? The energy of movement is kinetic energy. We have to infuse, we create energy through movement. And I think of choosing to do something like prioritizing yourself, getting into a program like Strong AF where you are surrounded by other women who have a similar goal. Like I am ready to prioritize myself. I am ready to do this. I have this desire and I have the drive, but it's felt too hard. It's felt restrictive. It is felt confusing and upsetting and it hasn't worked before, but I want to learn now. I want to become established as embodied and strong and sexy and unstoppable and badass as not just a human or a mom. Or a wife, but also as a coach, as a leader, as a sister, like everything in every area of my life.
[18:27] And you are ready to make your workouts and like fueling your body and sleeping and practicing mindfulness. This non-negotiable pillar, like you said, it is a pillar. It is the foundation that is like this daily gift to yourself. It is a, almost becomes this no brainer. It's so embodied in who you are, that it's no longer, it's not this obligation. It's not a checklist. It's not pressure. It is, this makes me the most incredible feeling version of myself. And that ignites all of that energy that you have into that energy of movement, because we connect with our body through presence and through movement. And that's why like this, one of the simplest things in the power five is lifting weights three times a week. I think a lot of people could be scared by that or the people that are already like, no, I do work out three times a week, but I just don't feel anything happening.
[19:23] When you embody the identity of an athlete and you are very intentional with what you're doing in that workout, it changes everything. When you have deep focus on your mind muscle connection, when you're in that workout, you're not judging. You're not trying to like lose 10 pounds on a workout. You're just, you're in the gym. You're feeling strong. You feel how how powerful it is to create energy through movement, right? You are tapping into your kinetic energy. You are expanding your potential because you're moving your body. Daily walks. And I go way into like, we make walks way more powerful than just walking, right? I remember helping you talk about a walk, like this is your badass walk, right? And this is time where you deeply connect. I teach like a gratitude and mindfulness walk. And walking I use in this multifaceted approach to connecting, calming my nervous system, tapping into pure potential. The Seven Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra. I really love tapping into pure potentiality. And we do that. It's woven into the Power Five. You won't see it in there, right? But I help my clients embrace that presence.
[20:36] Mindfulness, non-judgment nature. It's huge to embrace this stillness and this integration of your enoughness and worthiness, especially for all of the people that come into my world that tend to be very much like me. We typically relied on action and being very performative and proving and making all of these incredible results in our lives, right? And we've done incredible things and women have incredible careers and they've built incredible businesses.
[21:12] And it's, it has all been done on high action, high pressure, highly performative. And I used to do the same thing. That's, I'm not saying I'm any different. I was very similar and I was working out and doing all the things, But when something is missing.
[21:31] It is because we haven't learned how to bring in the other side, the joy, the abundance, the presence, the connection with I am enough. And when I believe that, and when I learn how to build that into my mindset and my consciousness and in my energy, whether I am working out or coaching a client or on a walk or folding laundry or welcoming my husband home from the day, I am so enough. I feel this level of abundance and energy within me that I have created throughout the day that I have cultivated through a practice of this lifestyle of how I live.
[22:13] And it just extends into every corner of your life. I see that happen for people. And it's like, wait a minute, I've done this before, but never like this, right? I haven't done it from this place of.
[22:28] Intentional abundant mindset. I haven't done it from believing that it's working from actually making some, I do believe in some strat, you know, strategic shifts. Like you said, most women aren't getting enough protein. We are not eating enough. Right. And if it just is really simple, like it's mostly whole foods. And one of my things is like, eat one more green thing. How simple is that? We don't have to get into all the science. I have studied all that. You know, So I tell a story like I went pretty much plant-based, plant-centered in 2018 all the way through 22. It absolutely changed my life. It changed my gut, right? It changed my energy.
[23:08] I felt different, right? I felt better by eating more plants. And I really incorporate that into my life. I do eat some meat now and it's not a huge thing, but I cook a lot of plant-based meals at home. And I just got into this habit of eating more green things. And so I remember you said once you were like, Anna, I am adding spinach into every single smoothie. And I feel like such a badass, right? And you still do adding flax meal, like you still do it, right? You're adding some flax meal, you're adding, you use soy milk now for your smoothies and not, my kids call it cow milk. Like they're like, why can't we have cow milk, mom? I'm like, that's one thing. So don't get me wrong, we eat ice cream. Totally. I use soy milk and almond milk at home, just because there's less inflammation, right? When we're not having all of these dairy products. And it's like, you can do small shifts, you can add more greens and cruciferous and, you know, spinach, and you will start to feel different. And you can actually eat more, I'm guaranteeing you're probably not eating enough, not enough protein, not enough fiber. And we can make that really freaking simple, right? And then when you combine this deep devotion to your body and your energy and your strength, and it's simple. Three workouts a week is where I start people lifting weights, walking daily, right? And we can talk about other things that we do, but if you think about how simple that is, but you are in this conscious, allowing yourself to expand, allowing yourself to feel really good.
[24:37] I think about it as we are breaking through upper limits of how freaking good you can feel, no matter if you have an 18 month old or kids in middle school.
[24:48] And I am so proud of Kaylin because you took this journey and your kids are still really young. I did not believe, I was in, you guys, I stopped working out for seven years while I had my kids. And I just completely put it out of my mind that it was possible. And when you do that, it will not be possible. It's not possible if you don't believe that you are worthy of a sacred routine and health and energy and feeling the best you can in the season of life you're in, you won't do it. And your brain will continue to create what feels normal and what you allow to be the best you can feel, which I think a lot of women are missing out on how freaking good they can feel through very simple shift in strategy and consciousness. business. Yeah. And when my youngest Silas turned four, I'll never forget, I was like, finally sleeping. And I don't I still believe, even if you have a if you have babies, we can tailor to your season. And you can optimize your health and your energy where you are,
[25:51] even if you're not getting eight hours of sleep, right.
[25:54] But I finally started, I just had this like epiphany, because when you're ready, you're ready. Caitlin, you were ready. Yeah, right. And that's why I say it's really important that people that want to do this have a desire and they have a drive. If you're trying to force yourself, it's not really going to work. But to meet yourself with that desire, and to give yourself the strategy and the coaching and the support, it's life changing. And so when Silas was four, and at the time, then I had a seven and eight year old.
[26:24] I just, and so cliche, it was, I'll never forget, it was January 1st, 2018, right? It's New Year's. Everybody sets New Year's resolutions, right? And I'm like, I don't care. It's really cliche, but I want to get strong again. And what I did was like, how can I do this in a way that works for me? Like, I still had little kids. I was working. And I'm like, I loved lifting weights before.
[26:45] I am going to work out three times a week, no matter what, for the next month. And just, I'm going to do that, right? Right. And I committed to that. And I didn't even have the rest of my power five at the time. Right. I just obviously not obviously I don't want to say that. But as a physical therapist, I was in tune with nutrition and fitness and all of these things. Like that was part of my life. Even as an athlete, I just had studied that and organically developed that. But I'm like, OK, I am going to start working out three times a week for 20 minutes lifting weights because I knew to build muscle for a woman, a woman, especially that is our metabolic powerhouse. That is what will help me with my low back pain. I need to build my core again. I need to build muscle and I don't need to. I just wanted to, I knew the importance of it. And that's what I committed to. And I made it so simple. And it was something that I desired that it was super easy to be consistent and disciplined. It is something that I could do and I could do no matter what I could make that work. and that built this self-trust that, okay, I'm becoming, my actions were proving this identity of I'm an athlete. I never lost that. I just get to step back into that.
[27:58] And within a couple of months, I was, it had been like three or four months and it was like, this is easy. I want to do more. And I naturally added a fourth day. And by the end of that year, I was feeling incredible in my body. My energy was different. Everything had shifted. And I was probably up to maybe four or five workouts a week. They weren't all weight workouts. And that was six years ago, right?
[28:24] Now it's on a different level. And like I mentioned, I had still gotten to that place. This was before coaching, mind you. I didn't learn about coaching or become a coach until 2021.
[28:36] So I was doing all of that, but I didn't have the coaching tools. I knew tons about the nervous system, but I didn't know that I was, I had a lot of control over my own regulation of it.
[28:49] Accessing, you know, this creative energy and potentiality. So it's like, I started to blend the somatic world with the spiritual world with the, you know, the coaching, everything. And it was like, holy moly, this, this is like a recipe for magic for people that resonate with me and want to not only transform their bodies, but transform their minds, their energy, their spirit, it. And also what I noticed is it started pouring into my relationship with my partner, my marriage, we became more connected, like everything, right? Everything, how I could be more patient and connected with my kids, all from this foundation of, I decided that I was worthy to take the time and the effort to pour into creating this body that is like unstoppable unstoppable, and in tune, and gentle with herself, depending on the season. And whatever's going on in life, when the identity is so strong, and the habits are so simple, you are this unshakable version of yourself and you are magnetic and you just be you step into your role as a creator. I think your audience, a lot of your audience will understand what I'm saying.
[30:10] That's why I love and resonate with you so much because you bring together this really cool blend of self-love and compassion and grace in the season, but also let's get to work.
[30:23] Let's do something. Let's move something. Let's shift something. And I feel like I loved your explanation of the potential energy versus the kinetic energy. I was like, I needed a little nudge to get moving. I think I remember telling you at the beginning of Strong AF that I was going on walks pretty somewhat. I don't even know how often, but I was like, And I'm trying to eat pretty healthy. But your blend of also holding me accountable of like, Kaylin, you can do more than that. You know you can. You have before.
[30:53] You've convinced yourself that it's going to be super hard and that it's going to be a huge burden. And you kind of already called this out. But I want to say a little bit more about this, that this is what I found is I had this belief, I guess, that, okay, if I'm going to work on my health, that means I have to stop eating all the things that I love no more diet coke I'm just gonna live at the gym and I'm gonna hate every second of it or I'm gonna be like over here on my peloton just hating every minute of it by the way I got rid of my peloton I feel like I should say because there was a season where I was like posting about it but I realized that there's a certain way that I like to work out that I look forward to and enjoy and there's certain ways that I don't look forward to and enjoy so I'm like kicking those out of my life and just yeah if other people love them that's That's amazing. I just know for me what works and resonates for me. So I love what you said of so many of us have this feeling that moving into a season of taking better care is going to require sacrifice and more struggle, but it's been the exact opposite for me, that it's been easy and I eat better foods than I did before. I told Anna, now I have a breakfast sandwich with a piece of yummy rotisserie chicken that I put in the air fryer with an egg on it and some cheese. And I'm like, this feels like I'm on vacation.
[32:13] Instead of a bowl of cereal, it's like, oh, this is better than I was feeling and eating and all the things before. And I have a workout class that I go to. It's like the sauce that I figured out that works for me. But I go and I love to like see how much I can lift. Not because I have to be here so I can work out, so I can lose weight, so I can look better. It's like I like to see how strong I am. And I like to get stronger and I like to watch my body change. And so there's so many, there's so much validation coming from everything, but doing this for any reason about how I look, you know, it's, it's all just like this really cool internal validation. Like I'm just doing this because I, I like it.
[32:56] And I remember, I remember a moment, probably this past winter, I was watching like a yoga video on YouTube. So I was really trying to do at home workouts. You guys are going to follow Anna and see that she's the queen of at home workouts. Workouts don't be intimidated by Anna no don't I didn't start there he knows she knows what works for her but I remember watching this yoga video that was like movement is medicine and I'd actually never heard anyone say that before which is probably shocking it's probably that's super common but I remember this moment of like I don't think that in that moment I've never been taught that I've never felt that way it's always been a little tiny bit of not to say punishment but But it's always been movement to try to prove something, movement to try to earn something instead of just movement for the joy of getting outside and feeling the sunshine on my face. Yes. Tell us more about some other unexpected ways that you watch with your clients when they implement some of these power five.
[33:58] Almost like this sneaky, unexpected side effects that they enjoy in addition to their physical health. I could speak to changes that I watched in my business, changes that I watched in my marriage, changes that I watched in my parenting, but I'm curious if you can call out some of those that stand out to you. Yeah. I think the shift in energy that they feel. I talk a lot about energy and part of myself, I'll call myself a holistic life and health coach, but really I'm this empowerment and expansion coach because I work a lot with.
[34:31] Energy, creating it, noticing it, shifting it. And I help my clients tap into that source of that they create it. And when you fuel your body in a way that is strong and powerful,
[34:47] and it feels like it just feels good, they find themselves and I think you did too. And we were having this conversation with someone else, you actually start craving, this was like a shocker, You start craving healthy food. It doesn't mean that you have to give up ice cream or Diet Coke. It's just you don't crave it as much because you are grounded in, well, this is who I am now. I eat this and I can guarantee almost anybody listening, you lift weights and have some amazing music on for 20 minutes. You are not going to go upstairs. I say upstairs because I have a gym in our downstairs garage. You know, I don't go upstairs and crave a Diet Coke or fries after a workout. I crave my plant-based whole foods. You begin to align with that identity. So my clients begin to cultivate these shifts in their identity and they become the empowerment element.
[35:42] Shifts, they begin to see how they create energy, they create connection, they create relationships, they create money, they create abundance. And they do it because their body is so fueled, and it's so loved and their thoughts, right, we we really go to work, making sure that their brain is working for them, making sure that they're choosing thoughts powerfully, that align with the future that they are envisioning, we really take that and it informs what they are doing right now. And so they find themselves enjoying coffee in the morning. Like, oh, Anna, like I found myself, I had just had a client say this. It felt so incredible.
[36:25] I got up 15 minutes earlier. I drank my coffee and I journaled a little bit. It was like the morning rush. And it wasn't like a perfect morning with her boys, but she goes, I was not reactive. I wasn't yelling at my kids. So like the relationships with your kids improve relationship with your partner improves. You aren't waiting for their permission or trying to prove, Hey, I got the laundry done and vacuum the house. So now I'm going to go on my walk. No, you aren't waiting for anybody's permission. And you aren't trying to prove that you deserve rest or you deserve to feel your body or be strong. It's just, you own that and you are that. And then there is so much, I don't believe in doing this just to do it for other people. I believe in doing it to do it and for yourself. But the truth is you do become a version of yourself that has the capacity to be a better wife and mom, right? And I'm not saying in a way to judge how you're being, it's just, you probably don't have the capacity that you want to have if you're not fueling yourself well, if you're not moving your body from love, if you're not resting, if you're not tapping into joy, if you're not aligned.
[37:40] In your mind, body, and spirit, we cannot give from what we are not.
[37:45] And that's why I'm like, I want to create a movement of women that feel strong AF from the inside out. And that is not just your body. It's your mind, body, and spirit. And that will infuse into your relationships. And it will infuse to your business. It will infuse to how you care for and expand and coach your clients and create your products and sell. I mean, all of this is woven together. And so the shocker is every single part of my life feels different. Why? Because you're identifying differently and you're prioritizing yourself and it is a non-negotiable. And I really coach and teach and live, deeply live. Like this is not just something I'm saying, but I do it. This deep non-judgment and loving kindness for ourselves selves and for life and for things that happen. Like recently, like, you know, my son has been sick. He's had a fever for 10 days. Like today he's all set upstairs.
[38:45] He's got his Tylenol and his little Sprite zero and he's watching a show and he's okay. And we're recording this, right? And my, the way I have had to navigate and allow for my routine to look different, but not lose sight of how do I take care of me? And how do I still get to do that? Even though my son is sick, I can take care of him. But that doesn't mean I start ignoring my own needs. It doesn't mean I shift how I eat. It doesn't mean I can't go on walks doesn't mean I can't work out. I just get to figure out a way to make it work.
[39:19] And if I miss one workout, that's okay. hey, it doesn't change who I am. I love giving women this new idea that you could maybe commit to like this, the part of the power of five, like three workouts a week, right? And maybe you get sick for a week and that doesn't, and you don't do your three workouts and you're not eating a smoothie every day. You don't even feel like eating. You're so sick that you can come out of that and just step right back in to your identity when you have the capacity again, that there There doesn't have to be a, you're not sliding backwards. You're not even starting over. You're just stepping right back in. It's a huge shift because there's no shame and no guilt in my world. We just freaking go for it. And when we can't, it's like, hey, that makes sense. We acknowledge it. We meet ourselves where we are. And then we just step right back in when you're able to. Yeah. This makes me think of last, well, a couple of years ago, Nate and I went on a trip. We've only been on like a couple really cool like couples trips sans kids and I remember the months before like kicking my butt at the gym to now I can see basically try to earn that trip like I will be able to say within myself that I am worthy of and deserve this trip if I go kill myself at the gym for three months in advance.
[40:40] Contrast that with what I've been doing recently. Nate and I are going on a cruise next week. This is our second trip together as a couple, really. And it was so interesting because I went to the gym this morning and I was like, oh, I have to schedule classes on an app that I go to. And so I scheduled my classes for the rest of this week and I was like, oh, I'll be out of town next week and then scheduled them again for the week after that. And I just had this really cool aha moment of like, oh my goodness, I have done it. I am finally exercising for myself instead of of trying to earn a vacation because I am going to keep doing this right when I get back. That was like a really cool moment.
[41:15] We had a conversation a couple of days ago about how important it is to me to embody who I am as a coach, the transformations that I help my clients create that like I'm walking the walk behind the scenes too. If you were to come over to my house today, you would see that I am exactly the same way that I am on Instagram and it wouldn't be surprising or you're shocking. And so I think it will really deeply resonate with the ladies who are listening, especially to almost think of it as a way to embody who you are on a deeper
[41:46] level, embody your brand, embody the work that you do with your clients. So the last question I have for you, Anna, is I want you to send like a love message to the Kaylins like six months ago who are listening, who are sitting in potential energy and they have the desire to do something thing different, but they feel, I loved how you said it before, they feel frustrated, they feel overwhelmed, it feels complicated, it feels scary, it feels like I am not sure who to look to for advice or for support. What would you say to those girls who are listening?
[42:19] I would say that makes so much sense that you feel that way and you are not alone in that. And if you can allow yourself to believe in a different possibility and potential, if you were brave enough, it takes bravery to do something and be something different than you've ever been, but it is 100% required to at least give yourself the option of loving yourself and your body in a different way that I promise it is simple and it is doable and that you don't have to do it alone.
[42:58] It would be really scary to commit to the investment of time and energy when you don't have a different strategy and you don't have a different mindset because Because it is hard to create change if you haven't changed the way you think. And if you haven't allowed yourself to see yourself and your potential in a different way and to come at this holistic approach to mind, body, spirit, elevation through a foundation of health and wellness in a different way, it would make sense that it's like, I'm scared. I don't know. And it makes sense that your brain wants to protect you. That's what our brains do. do, it makes sense that your brain is saying it might not be worth it. I've got little kids. I don't have time. Your brain will continue to point out the narrative that you are giving airtime to.
[43:51] And so my loving message is, what is it costing you to not give airtime to your potential and to allow yourself to...
[44:02] Like breakthrough, it is a glass ceiling of how good you can feel because you were brave enough to believe that you were worth it, to believe that you are only playing in the very beginnings of what is possible for yourself, for your family, for your business, for your marriage, for your confidence, for your magnetism and your energy, shifting and being led and And leading yourself, having someone help you find a path and your own blueprint and trusting it, but also having a simple strategy at the same time. Failure is not even possible when you come into my world because I will create space for you and I hold space for people to be imperfect humans because we are and I am. And yet I have a way, and you know this, Kaylin, I'm like, I'm gentle, but I'm like, let's go. You've got this. There's a balance that maybe you haven't experienced of grace and grit, right? Of this, let's get through this friction to create deep flow. And there will always be a little bit of both, but your capacity to expand and to feel better is worth exploring and worth.
[45:26] The investment because you'll never, you'll just never know if you don't try and what you can, you can create when you allow that. And you are in a room with other people who are doing the same thing. And you have a guide that believes in you and can help you tap into that.
[45:43] You know, that energy of movement and belief and powerful fueling and all of that, right? It's like magic. It's like magic. And I want everyone to experience that. I want everyone to experience that type of love-driven action. It is love-driven action. That's what we do. Then the compound effect of that, it is exponential compared to what you can create when you are forcing or pushing yourself to do movement or exercise or eat because you're in a different energy where it feels like not enough and when it feels like it won't work. And I just know it can be different. I got 100% believe anybody that comes into my world, I will meet them where they are with a whole lot of love and help them see how much more they are capable of from this very brilliant foundation of holistic health and spirit and abundance all together. It's really fun. All of it. I have chills up and down my arms right now, which as you know, means like this is landing for me and will land for my audience. I also think grace and grit might be like my new life motto. I'm obsessed.
