From Middle School Art Class to Full-Time Artist: Kenna Barber's Path

What do you do when your main source of marketing and income disappears a week before Christmas?

In this episode, Kaelynn interviews LDS artist Kenna Barber about building a faith centered art business, from posting early watercolor work on Instagram to opening an Etsy shop in 2021 that stayed quiet for months until she began listing Christ focused pieces that gained traction. Kenna shares investing in an Etsy course, getting fired from her part time job, dropping out of a marketing degree to go all in on art, then getting locked out of her Instagram account in late 2022 and rebuilding from zero as posts and reels helped people find her again. They discuss feeling called to create Christian artwork, comparison and muting accounts, her creative process and inspiration through music, balancing business with new motherhood, concerns about AI art, and learning resilience through repeated hard pivots.
